Program Description

mini_run.gif (3246 bytes)Western United’s U9 and U10 programs are meant for talented aspiring young soccer players who are looking for an advanced level of play and development.  We view U9 and U10 years as critical years for providing the skills necessary to play at the highest level in future years. With these advanced skills players will develop confidence and a love of the game
 
The development program provides premier-level training and competition that is complimentary to the CJSA Travel Schedule. Soccer Extreme incorporates ideas from around the globe through experienced and qualified professional coaches. We help young athletes improve their technical, tactical, physical, and psychological skills. The ultimate goal is to prepare players for success at the next levels (Premier, High School and College) of the game all while having fun.

Nick Bogiatzopoulos - U9

Nick Bogiatzopoulos is a graduate of EndicottCollege where he earned a B.S. in Physical Education with a concentration in Sport Management and Coaching. While at Endicott he was a 4-year letter winner for the Gulls. Through Soccer Extreme, Nick is the Program Manager for the Brookfield Soccer Club, Youth Academy Coordinator for Samba TTP, and Head Coach of the Extreme U9 team.

Before coming to Soccer Extreme, he was on staff for the Aztec Soccer Club in Beverly, MA. He previously served as the assistant boy’s varsity coach at Hamden HS and as an assistant for the men’s side at Salem State College. Aside from soccer, Nick has spent time as a full-time staff member for Special Olympics Connecticut and later served as a pre-school program director for The Little Gym. Nick holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, a National ‘D’ License from the USSF/CJSA and a Coaching Certificate from Endicott College.

 
Craig Horne - U10
Craig Horne is Vice President at Soccer Extreme. Originally from South Africa, Craig trained professionally with Albertain Callies and while training with them he decided to pursue an education and play soccer overseas in the USA. In 1994, Craig received a soccer scholarship to Lander University in South Carolina, where he went on to graduate Cum Laude with a degree in marketing management and a minor in Philosophy.

While at college, Craig became involved with coaching youth teams, including coaching the St Giles U15 Girls Premier team to a South Carolina state championship. Craig furthered his coaching licenses by gaining his USSF A and NCSSA Premier License and gained hands on experience by coaching premier teams in CT (CFC and Weston KAOS).

 
Program Cost and Details
The cost for the U9 and U10 programs are as follows:
 
Fall & Spring Pricing
Cost: $295.00/season*
 
Fees Cover:
·         Practice once a week for 1.5 hours
·         Practice shirt, shorts, and socks
·         All CJSA registration fees and insurance
·         A few friendly games each season
·         Goalie training
 
Winter
Cost: $450.00*
 
Fees Cover:
·         Indoor practice once a week for 1 hour at Newtown Youth Academy
·         Indoor games on weekends at Newtown Youth Academy
·         Extra game shirt
·         All CJSA registration fees and insurance
·         Goalie training
 
 
* Western United Extreme will strive to keep a qualified child playing despite exigent circumstances of financial hardship. No financial scholarships will be considered without full disclosure of family’s financial and tax records. All decisions must be approved by Western United Extreme, Inc. Western United Extreme, Inc. also retains the right to reject, suspend, or terminate any player if financial obligations are not timely met.
